Everyone wants to be a good shooter, if you can drain a shot from anywhere on the floor your unguardable and dont even need to worry about driving the lane because you've always got your silky smooth jumper your ready to pull out at any time.
So how do you become a good shooter?
Well the answer is lots of ways but there all forms of PRACTISE, perfect practise makes perfect.
Todays Tip:
Make a routine and stick to it.
You'll be surprised how much just shooting around doesn't improve your shot compared to drills. If you just shootaround its not gamelike and isn't going to help you in games. You should make a routine and stick to it.
The routine:
20 shots at minimum from the 5 mid-range shooting spots (baseline sides left and right, The elbows and top of the key)
20 shots at minimum 5 3-point shooting spots (baseline side left and right, right and left wing and top of the three point line)
10 free throws at begining of routine and after (more if you can)
The science behind it:
Shooting is based on muscle memory, studies have shown that you have to shoot atleast 20 shots from a spot to improve your muscle memory. So it is true the more you practise PERFECTLY the more you improve.
